In honour of the NishDish Marketeria pop-up kitchen and a newly established Medicine Garden NishDIsh at Crawford Lake, we are pleased to host an Indigenous Food Sovereignty Celebration and Garden Opening on September 4th. This is an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous community members to come to the land, share community support and honour ceremony through Indigenous Food Sovereignty and the Gitigan- Garden Opening.

The celebration will take place at Crawford Lake on Saturday, September 4th from 11am to 4pm. Join us for music and teachings by the Three Sisters Garden planted by Ojibiikaan Indigenous Cultural Network and the new Mashkiki Gitigan (Medicine Garden) designed and planted by Miinikaan Innovation and Design with funding from TDCanada and the Arbor Day Foundation. The schedule of events will include Longhouse Village exploration from 11am-12pm, Speakers, Music & Dancers from 12pm-2pm, and Garden Talks from 2pm 4pm. Reservations are required at Crawford lake, and can be made at parkvisit.ca.
