Snowshoeing Experience at Kelso

(Each experience is a two-hour reservation and the last experience departs at 3:30 pm.)
Get outdoors and enjoy two snowshoe trails on the ski slopes at Kelso/Glen Eden. The beginner “S” (short) trail is roughly 1.1 km and stretches across the base of the escarpment. The intermediate “L” (long) trail is roughly 1.8 km and winds its way up the escarpment, across the top of the slopes and back down the other side. Take in the views and warm up at one of the numerous campfires located along the trails. Booking includes a complimentary hot beverage. Adult and child snoweshoe rentals are available via reservation (click here!) or guests can reserve their visit and bring their own snowshoes!

Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be snow on the trails?
Yes! The team at Glen Eden has been making snow throughout the provincial lockdown, so it has been used to develop the two snowshoeing trails. Please keep in mind that depending on the weather, snowmaking may be happening when you visit.
Can I explore off the snowshoe trails?
No. The snowshoe trails are groomed for this purpose, specifically. Other trails and parts of the hill have not been groomed for snowshoeing and grooming teams may be working in these areas.
Can I snowshoe on more than one trail?
Yes! You can enjoy more than one of the designated snowshoe trails during your visit. Be mindful of your two-hour time limit.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes! You are welcome to bring your dogs but they must remain on a leash and you must pick up after them for the consideration of others.
Can I go tobogganing?
No. Tobogganing, sledding, skiing, snowboarding and other such activites are prohibited at this time.
Do I really need to make a reservation?
Yes. As with all our parks, reservations are required to ensure we can provide a safe experience for all our guests.
How do I reserve my visit?
Click the link above to reserve your visit and snowshoes, if needed. After you register, you will recieve an e-ticket via email, which you should bring with you on your visit, either printed or on your phone.
Can I change or cancel my reservation?
If needed, you can use the link provided in your confirmation email to edit or cancel your reservation to receive a full refund up to one hour prior to your visit time.
Can I add other people to my reservation?
When you make a reservation, you will be able to included additional guests to your reservation, depending on availablity at that time. Guests who arrive without a reservation will not be able to access the program.
Do I need to bring a ticket or receipt with me?
Yes, please bring your reservation email with you either printed or on your phone, so that your reservation can be validated at check-in.
Do I have to arrive at the start of my reservation time?
Yes, it is important for you to arrive at the start of your reservation, which you can find on your e-ticket, in order for us to stay within current public health guidelines.
How will I know if this experience is cancelled for some reason?
It is possible for cancellations to occur due to extreme weather and public health regulations. In the case of a cancellation, we will post an update on Facebook and Twitter, and guests will be emailed as soon as possible.
Will there be parking available?
Yes, parking is available and included in your reservation fee. Please follow the posted signs to find parking, located between the Visitor Centre and the Pedestrian Overpass.
Where do I pick up my showshoes?
If you have rented snowshoes, they can be picked up and dropped off at the West Lodge.
Will there be washrooms available?
Yes. Outdoor heated washrooms are available outside the West Lodge, beside the Pedestrian Overpass and there is an indoor washroom beside the Visitor Centre. The lodges will not be open.
COVID-19 Safety Measures
Staff and guests will both be required to wear face coverings both indoors and outdoors. Children the age of two years old and those with medical exemptions will be excepted.
For the safety of staff and other guests, we ask that all visitors maintain a safe distance of two metres (six feet) from others at all times, both indoors and outdoors. Limited reservation numbers, as well as the availability of two trails and multiple fireside lounges, will allow for physical distancing. Due to reduced indoor capacity, we kindly ask guests to arrive dressed for the weather and prepared to spend their entire visit outdoors.
All guests will be required complete a COVID-19 pledge when they make their reservation on behalf of all their group members. This will help remind guests who are feeling ill to stay home. Also, to keep our guests safe, employees will be required to conduct a health screening prior to each scheduled shift.
