COVID-19 Events, Programs & Services Update

We are also aware that many families and community members have questions about our upcoming events and programs. We will not proceed with any event or program unless we have full confidence in our ability to deliver it safely while maintaining alignment with provincial and federal regulations.

Decision Making Criteria

  • The safety of our program and event participants and staff is first and foremost in all decisions
  • Protocols implemented by our municipalities, school boards and other conservation authorities are referenced
  • Planning and preparation time required to deliver programs and events is considered

Ways of the Woods Day Camp

We have considered every option imaginable, but the unfortunate reality is that summer camp, in the usual format, is just not possible at this time, so Ways of the Woods will not be happening for the summer of 2020… at least, not in the way we are all used to. We know that Ways of the Woods means so much to so many people but the health and safety of our staff, campers, their families and our community is our top priority.

So, what happens to your Ways of the Woods camp registration? You have a few options.

  1. You can donate your registration fee, either in full or in part, to the Conservation Halton Foundation, so that it can be used for future education and restoration programs, and receive a tax receipt.
  2. You can receive a credit in the form of a gift card that can be used for anything at the Conservation Halton Parks. (This credit does not expire.)
  3. You can receive a refund in the form of payment that you used to make your reservation.

Whatever option you choose, please understand it will take us some time to process. If you would like a refund, you don’t need to do anything—you will receive it automatically. If you would like to a credit or to make a donation, please send an email to registration@waysofthewoods.ca and provide the name of your camper and the option that you would like.

Camp Kelso

Registration is now open for camp Kelso a summer camp-like experience designed around social circles in a way that allows us to better manage social interaction and safe use of facilities and equipment. These won’t be the exact same as the camp programs that you know and love but they will help to get your kids outside, keeps your kids active and give you a break at home.

MTB Race Series

Pricing for programs such as the MTB Race Series will be determined by format for the 2020 program. This means that registration and pricing cannot be provided until we are confident that we are trending out of the pandemic state and a start date can be set.

Memberships

Conservation Halton Parks memberships are being printed and mailed on a weekly basis. The expiry date shown on the card will be the end of the month of purchase. New expiry dates will be calculated to reflect the extension period.
